The late Harry Hopman founded Heatherdale Tennis Club in 1966 at a public meeting & launch. Courts 1-4 were completed & ready for play by 1967 as the result of a hard working committee whose ideas & dreams still underpin the club today.
By 1983, the club boasted the 8 en-tout-case courts, 6 under lights & current Clubhouse including a lounge & bar facilities.
In 2006 the 8 en-tout-cas courts were resurfaced with Classic Clay. In 2017 the Classic Clay was replaced with Euroclay.
Ian Barclay coached at Heatherdale for a period of 14 years producing many great players including Pat Cash whose name appears on the honor board of Club Champions.
1991 – 1994 heralded the years of the successful Ladies State Grade Pennant Team including two premierships.
